Where we deliver
Moura sits in the Dawson Valley, where coal and cropping share the same roads. We deliver general, express and full load freight into Moura through our Theodore depot, on a twice weekly service out of Toowoomba.
Moura is serviced from our depot at 17 Railway Parade, Theodore, about 60 kilometres to the south. Rather than running a separate line haul into every town, freight for the Dawson Valley is consolidated and worked through Theodore, which is what makes a twice weekly service to a town of this size viable at all.
The practical effect for a Moura customer is that the freight is handled by Wards from pickup right through to delivery. There is no handover to a local subcontractor at the edge of the network, and one phone number covers the whole journey.

The single most useful habit for Moura customers is ordering to the service. Work backwards from when the goods are needed on site, allow the transit time, and place the order before the Toowoomba cut-off. Freight that misses a departure waits for the next one.
Where that is not possible — a breakdown, a failed component, a changeout brought forward — a hot shot runs the consignment as a dedicated movement on its own vehicle, 24 hours a day. It costs more per kilogram and it is frequently the cheaper decision once downtime is counted.
The run works both ways. Equipment going off hire, components heading to a workshop for repair, produce moving to market and returns to suppliers can all travel back through Theodore and on to Toowoomba and Brisbane. Backloading is usually the most economical way to move something south, so it is worth asking when you book.
