Truck Driver - Brisbane
Working at Wards Transport
Wards Transport is an Australian owned and operated family business with its head office in Roma, Queensland. We have grown into a network of six depots — Roma, Toowoomba, Brisbane, Charleville, Warwick and Theodore — moving freight between Brisbane and South West Queensland every day.
Being family owned shapes how the place runs. Decisions are made by people you can actually get hold of, and the person who answers the phone at head office is usually the person who can sort the problem out. For anyone who has worked in a large national network, that is a noticeable difference.
The kinds of roles we hire for
Our teams cover the whole operation, from the vehicles through to the office:
- Line haul and local drivers running freight between our depots and out to customers
- Heavy haulage and OSOM drivers working with drop deck, extendable and ramp trailers
- Forklift operators and warehouse staff handling freight, pallets and laydown yards
- Depot and operations staff planning loads, runs and schedules
- Customer service and administration at our depots and head office

Where the work is
Roles come up across all six depots. Head office is at 71-75 Duke Street, Roma, with depots at Toowoomba, Brisbane (Rocklea), Charleville, Warwick and Theodore. Driving roles run the corridor between them, from the Brisbane metro area out west to Charleville and north into the Banana Shire.
For drivers, that means real regional work rather than the same metro loop every day.
